Hi.
Here's who I am & what I do.
Who I am
I was born and raised in Madison, WI and received my BBA in Marketing from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have worked primarily in the restaurant industry, implementing service design strategies and overseeing front-of-house operations. In recent years, I have forged a greater connection with the Madison community through my work with Literacy Network as a tutor, class leader, and now member of the Marketing and Development Committee.
I have a love for cooking and all things food-related, DIY, and cultivating beautiful outdoor spaces, and I find joy in seeking out solutions to everyday problems – no matter how small or large.
With a view of the world that is realistic, yet optimistic, hopeful, and imaginative, it is my desire to design solutions that make our spaces more equitable and welcoming.
This is what led me to my MS in Design + Innovation, with a specialization in Design Strategy, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I earned my degree amidst a pandemic in May 2021 and look forward to continuing to design human-centric solutions!
What I do
I am a designer, fueled by my qualities as an empathic thinker who loves problem-solving, creating, and continuously learning. My intuition and observant nature of the environment and people around me also drive my ideas and pursuance of innovation.
As a Southeast Asian American woman and daughter of refugees, my identity permeates my work in design strategy and represents my desire to explore and develop solutions that foster equitable experiences.
I am a daydreamer in a constant state of curiosity, in awe of the world around me and the possibilities of solutions abound. I consider myself a realistic optimist, keenly aware of obstacles that provide opportunities for imaginative and creative solutions.
My creativity comes from a desire to produce a sense of joy, fun, and appreciation of life for myself and others, and I believe that viewing the world in an almost childlike manner allows us to experience the world with a renewed, fresh perspective.
I am inspired by others’ experiences, as well as my own, the community around me, and an overall admiration for all things visually beautiful and stimulating.
It is through my work that I hope to foster opportunities to experience the world with a sense of joyfulness and optimism.
